Practitioner
A short biography
During my three and half year intensive but enjoyable training at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading (part of Kingston University) I studied Western Medicine alongside Chinese Medical skills such as cupping, moxibustion and tui na massage as well as acupuncture. I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in acupuncture.
Prior to starting my second career as an acupuncturist, I worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for 10 years. During this time I became very enlightened as to the great service provided by the NHS but also saw how limited pharmaceuticals can be at treating patients as individuals. Now I enjoy working with a therapy, which puts as much focus on prevention of disease as it does on curing symptoms.
As a member of the British Acupuncture Council I am trained to adhere to very strict professional guidelines set out in their Code of Conduct.
The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) is a registering body for professional acupuncturists. Their aim is to ensure the health and safety of the public at all times. They do this by maintaining high standards of education, ethics, discipline and practice. Acupuncturists registered with the BAcC carry the letters MBAcC after their name.
